Ms. Victoria Hughes

Welcome to Second Grade Bobcat families! My name is Victoria Hughes and I am thrilled to be teaching second grade this year at Black Mountain. I graduated from ASU's Mary Lou Fulton Teacher's College with my degree in Elementary Education. I first fell in love with the Cave Creek Unified School District while completing my senior residency at Sonoran Trails Middle School. While I enjoyed my time teaching middle schoolers, I have a soft spot in my heart for the younger elementary grades, especially after I became a mother. My daughter is now four years old and attending pre-school here at Black Mountain. You may have seen us bouncing around campus last year when I had the privilege of teaching in the K-3 Resource Room. We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the families here at BMES and are thankful to be a part of such a great school and community. We are excited for another great year with our Bobcat family and can't wait to continue learning and growing together here. My favorite part about teaching is the "lightbulb moment". I love when students realize they CAN do it and experience that sense of pride in their learning. I look forward to many of those moments with your children and developing meaningful relationships with them that hopefully inspire a love for learning that will last a lifetime!
