Ms. Lorie Haugen-LeBlanc

I have lived in the Cave Creek School District for 20 years.  I have watched the district grow and now I am a part of the best district in the north valley.  I enjoy my dogs, teaching, and escaping the heat by going to Christopher Creek.

I love to explore and I have traveled extensively.  I went on the Semester at Sea in the fall of 1982.  I was in Europe the winter of 1989/90 when the Berlin wall came down. This summer I traveled to Ohau, Hawaii; visiting Pearl Harbor and swimming/ snorkeling with the turtles.

I enjoy beading jewelry, and make my own lanyards.  Beading is an ADD/HD strategy for me that helps me focus in various workshops and classes, as well as embroidery.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in History; with minors in business and theatre arts; from the University of San Diego.  I earned a Master’s Degree in Instruction & Curriculum from ASU.  I became a special education teacher because my first teaching job was in a long term psychological facility for youth ages 6-18.  I learned a lot of things while there and it started me on a path to a certification in special education.

I will be using Google Classroom, and online textbooks.  Links to these will be posted on the digital learning page.
