The first time I used clay, in elementary school, I became interested in creating art. In middle school, I explored jewelry making using paper, found objects, and paint. I started selling my jewelry in 8th grade and continue to do so today. In college I rekindled my love for clay and discovered photography. These two mediums were my focus for my senior exhibition. After graduating, I was accepted to a clay residency at Callenwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon finishing the residency, I became of full time clay artist. I exhibited in galleries, sold my art in stores and in juried art shows, and have work in resturants and hotels.
My first K-12 teaching job began at the high school level where I created their digital arts program. After moving to Phoenix in 2010, I worked as a graphic designer for a few years. When my children entered school, I transitioned to teaching at the elementary school level for CCUSD. My goal is to give your child the opportunity to discover their favorite medium.
