  • Hello and WELCOME to vocal and guitar music at Cactus Shadows!  This is my 27th year of teaching music.  I was raised in Connecticut where I met my husband at the middle school at which I was teaching choir.  We moved to Phoenix in 1999.  I taught elementary music in PV district for 15 years, then came to Horseshoe Trails here in CCUSD.  Soon after, the opportunity arose for me to teach at both the middle school and here at Cactus Shadows, and it's now been 5 years that I've done that.  My oldest daughter is engaged and graduating in August with a BS in nursing, and my youngest daughter will be a senior at Grand Canyon University where she is majoring in Athletic Training.  My husband was the proud principal of Sonoran Trails MS for many years, and has moved up to CCUSD District Office.  We have 2 dogs and a cat and are enjoying empty nesting!  My passion has always been bringing the joy of music to as many people as I can.  I  am excited for another amazing year!

The best way to contact me is through email.  I will respond within 1 business day!  Thank you!

My Educational Philosophy

  • I believe that my role as a music teacher is to be a facilitator for the students.  I want them to explore, and create, and allow them opportunities to grow and learn who they really are.  I want my classroom to be a safe place for them... physically and mentally.... a place to feel free to be themselves and where mistakes may happen but that we grow from those mistakes... A place where we can celebrate and encourage each other.  I will engage them in activities that will allow them to be creative, disciplined, flexible and work cooperatively with ot
