Ms. Lori Dahne
Counselor
Cactus Shadows High School

Lori keeps things running smoothly in the counseling department at CSHS. She is referred to as the “team mom” of the department and she consistently goes above and beyond to help her peers.  She is meticulous in her organizational skills and a treasure when it comes to helping others find the resources they need to do their job well. Her team has over 1800 students to assist and her spirit and kindheartedness helps everyone keep their priorities in focus while juggling the many responsibilities required of each of them.  Cactus Shadows High School is so fortunate to have a shining star of a counselor like Lori!

Mr. Joseph Harvey
Teacher / Athletic Trainer
CSHS

Joe has built a sports medicine curriculum from the ground up for our sports programs at CSHS.  He takes painstakingly careful measures to make sure our students are safe while competing and his students respect him and they strive to do their best for him.  Joe is considered an expert in sports medicine at CSHS and he shows great enthusiasm with his students.  He advocates for field trip opportunities for them and has even made arrangements for his students to work with cadavers at GCU.  Now that’s dedication! Joe’s work as the head athletic trainer at CSHS and his commitment to his job is truly commendable, and Cactus Shadows is so fortunate to have him!

Ms. Toni Kubiak
Paraprofessional – Developmental Kindergarten
Desert Sun Academy

Toni’s role at DSA is priceless!  She addresses staff, parents and student with sincerity, asking questions and evaluating each individual situation. She helps ten developmental kindergarten students with multiple needs and goals. Toni supports the teachers that instruct these young lives and quickly dives in to help as adjustments need to be made. She is such a positive light and constant encouragement to the young lives she touches in kindergarten and all those she interacts with on campus. Her coworkers say that it is a joy to have her at DSA and to be part of a team with her that reaches for the best interests of each child and situation that arises.

Ms. Alissa Leamon
Special Education English Teacher
Cactus Shadows High School

Alissa’s lessons often extend beyond the classroom to teaching her students how to be successful young adults in the real world. She always finds time during her day to accommodate her colleagues with learning the new Google systems or writing IEPs. She has a clear desire for all staff to succeed, as well as for each individual student to reach their full potential. Alissa gives her students the tools they need to flourish and she can often be found cheering them on and campaigning on their behalf. She provides a well-structured classroom where students can expect consistency. She is a great example of how kindness, commitment and leadership can inspire others to reach their full potential.

Ms. Orlinda Pacheco
Teacher – Spanish Kindergarten
Desert Willow Elementary School

Orlinda always has a positive, creative attitude that motivates her students to do their personal best. She helps them develop a path for learning that is specific to their individual needs, strengths and weaknesses. Although she is in her first year of teaching, she demonstrates the dedication and commitment of a seasoned instructor. Orlinda has taken initiative in working with See Saw, Personalized Learning platforms, science projects, learning projects and helping your colleagues learn new technology. She is learning, growing, and incorporating new ideas into the World Language Program at DWES each week and has become a vital team member and asset to our district.

Ms. Lisa Tibbits
2nd Grade Teacher – Spanish Immersion
Desert Willow Elementary School

Lisa is a strong leader and mentor at Desert Willow. She is one of the head members of CCEA, part of the DWES cultural committee and an active member on the PBIS tier 2 team. Lisa is diligent about getting helpful resources for both teachers and students. Her students absolutely love her festive spirit! She participates in school spirit days, special staff days and every holiday. We can easily spot Lisa’s festive socks, green shamrock glasses or Easter bunny ears.  Along with remarkable curricular activities, she also plans and organizes meaningful and fun outside field trips for all of the students in 2nd grade. She takes pride in her school and is a valuable member of the DWES staff.

Ms. Peggy Vance
Administrative Assistant to the Dean
Cactus Shadows High School

Peggy has been such an immense help to the new dean at Cactus Shadows! She has been supportive and inspiring with her hard work and knowledge.  She has helped the transition transpire smoothly. Whether it is passing on knowledge in regard to fair and consistent discipline or keeping things on track, Peggy is on top of it!  She continuously go above and beyond her job duties, helping others to perform their job.  Peggy provides information and clarity to all those she works with.  She makes herself available and gives of her time freely for the sake of all staff and students.  She does this all with a smile in her voice and the patience of a saint!

Ms. Brittany Wiggins
Preschool Teacher Assistant
Horseshoe Trails Elementary School / ECS

Brittany has worked as a Teacher Assistant for almost two years supporting Mrs. Grandprey in the preschool classroom at Horseshoe Trails.  She makes sure the classroom is set up and ready for learning to begin each day. She works with all school personnel to make sure the preschool program runs efficiently. Brittany exhibits caring professionalism and she has a patient demeanor that puts the children at ease. She uses a variety of strategies to help support each child's social, emotional, and academic needs. Brittany shares her ideas and works as a team player with staff, parents, and the HTES community.  We are so very fortunate that the children in our care have benefited with Brittany by their side.
