Scott Brown, Member

Scott, his wife, Gail, and their two children, Colby and Shelby, moved to Cave Creek in the Spring of 2002. Colby and Shelby were some of the first students at Lone Mountain Elementary School when it opened. Both of his children attended Desert Arroyo, then attended and graduated from Cactus Shadows; Colby in 2012 and Shelby in 2014.  As his children grew up through the school district, Scott played an active role as a class room and school volunteer, former Lone Mountain PTO Co-President, and as a member on several school and district committees.

Notably, Scott served on the Rebuild the Nest committee, responsible for the master plan of Cactus Shadows’ new track and athletic stadium. He also served for four years on the Cactus Shadows’ Site Council.  Scott was honored by the Governing Board as a recipient of the Adult Volunteer Excellence Award in 2015.

Scott is proud to be one of the founders of Cave Creek/Carefree Youth Football and Cheerleading, established in 2002. He served as the Association President for five seasons and is currently serving as the Deputy Commissioner for the ninth season. Scott is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Carefree where he serves as a member on the Scholarship Committee.

"I believe that the Governing Board must have a strong policy in place to provide the most effective administration for our district. Strong leadership and accountability will assist the Governing Board in identifying areas in need of more support, efficient use of district funds, and methods to enhance the education of every student in the Cave Creek Unified School District."
